Swiss duo Fat Sushi is currently making its trademark on the underground clubland by releasing tracks and remixes on some of the most respected labels in the game: Suara, Einmusika, Katermukke, Steyoyoke or Hive Audio to name a few.
Being in the industry for almost two decades before the peculiarly named pairing decided to join forces in 2013, you can hear the inspiration of various musical styles in their productions: heavy basslines, uplifting melodies and carefully chosen vocals – from deep house to techno spectrum.
With gigs all over Europe and the US, the past few months have been pretty hectic for the Zurich based guys. But there’s no sign of the cold fat fish slowing down: while constantly hitting the Beatport charts with original productions and remixes for the likes of Fritz Kalkbrenner or Henry Saiz, the guys are also curating their own Fat Wax imprint. Talking about ‘Fat Wax’: being praised by Dancing Astronaut as ‘one of the underground’s most exciting new imprints', the label already showcases an impressive list of artists involved: From Chicago House legend DJ Pierre to balearic vibes from Kyodai to Berlin influences by Marquis Hawkes or UK’s John Monkman.
No surprise, Fat Sushi’s productions get played by the current keyplayers of the Techno & Tech House scene such as Marco Carola, Nicole Moudaber, Maya Jane Coles, Oliver Koletzki, Andhim, Coyu, Lane 8, Einmusika or Reboot to name a few. Or in the words of ‚Pulse Radio‘: 'Fat Sushi ... demonstrate their experience and true talent when it comes to creating progressive, club friendly masterpieces.'
